Principal’s Message

August 2019

Dear Echo Lake Families and Visitors,

It is an honor to serve as the principal of Echo Lake Elementary School for the 2019-2020 school year! Echo Lake has a long tradition of academic excellence and a school culture focused on meeting the learning needs of each student.  For the fifth year in a row, Echo Lake Elementary School earned the Board of Education’s Excellence Award.  In order to achieve this award, schools must meet all state and federal achievement benchmarks and make significant progress toward goals for increased student achievement and expanded educational opportunities set by the board. The award also recognizes successful efforts to increase opportunities for students and addresses non-academic factors such as health and nutrition.

Our theme, “LEARNING IS AN ADVENTURE,” reflects our commitment to providing diverse educational, social and civic learning experiences that inspire and empower our students to become contributing citizens and life ready learners.  Through innovative instructional approaches and real-world learning experiences, our teachers create opportunities for students to learn meaningful content and develop skills needed for future success. We are excited about our STEAM lab and our outdoor “Learning Garden” designed to foster authentic learning experiences, encourage family engagement and support our community as partners in learning.

Echo Lake’s outstanding faculty and the wonderful families who make up the community are key partners in our continued success. We encourage all families to join our PTA and get involved in activities throughout the year.  We are excited to welcome back our WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) and appreciate all who volunteer time to help the staff and students at Echo Lake.  Our teachers invite ongoing communication with families, and we appreciate your input.  By working together, we will ensure your child’s success during these very important first years of school.
