Parking Lot Procedures

For the safety of our students, families, and community during arrival and dismissal times, we will have ALL car traffic turning to the RIGHT from the parking lot. The right turn only is in effect during the times of 7:45am-8:30am and 2:30pm-3:15pm.
Keep in mind that middle school students are on the way to school in the morning as well and walking along the sidewalks. Be sure that as you exit the parking lot you make legal maneuvers to get to your destination.

Bus Riders (use of seat belts and reminders)

New this year, elementary school students who ride a bus equipped with seat belts must wear them while the bus is moving. HCPS added three-point shoulder and lap belts to most of the bus fleet this summer.

Bus drivers will remind students to fasten their seat belts as they are seated, and will help secure seat belts as needed. Refusal to wear a seat belt may result in disciplinary consequences. This change is being made for your child’s safety, and we appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of buckling up.

As a reminder, pickup and drop-off times may be inconsistent during the first few weeks of school as families and drivers become familiar with new bus routes. If buses are delayed, families will receive a notification through ParentSquare. You can also monitor bus movement in real-time by downloading the Edulog Parent Portal. Students whose bus is delayed will not be marked tardy or absent.
