Principal’s Message

July 2023

Welcome families and visitors to Echo Lake Elementary School!

As we begin the 25th year since Echo Lake opened in 1999, we have a great deal to celebrate. Echo Lake has a strong tradition of academic excellence and family involvement.  Many of our families boast several generations of ELES experiences. I am proud to serve as the principal of a school with a strong commitment to excellence.

I am a graduate of Virginia Tech where I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  I also earned my master’s degree in Education with an endorsement in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Over 20 years ago, I began my education career as a classroom teacher.  I have had the privilege of serving as an educational leader in Henrico County for the past ten years - at Pinchbeck Elementary, Tuckahoe Elementary, Glen Allen Elementary, and Trevvett Elementary. This is my second year here at Echo Lake.  I am passionate about learning and believe that building strong relationships is critical to promote high levels of learning and growth for students.

We will continue to, “Dream Big, Aim High”, as we celebrate 25 years of educating students and serving this community.  Our theme reflects our commitment to provide engaging opportunities for all students with a focus on growth, reflection, and creativity.  Through innovative and interactive instructional approaches and real-world learning experiences, our teachers will create opportunities for students to learn meaningful content and develop skills needed for future success. Our dynamic and dedicated teaching staff is committed to ensuring the academic success of ALL students. We also believe that a strong home-school connection is critical in promoting student growth and achievement in school.

I am proud to stand with and support this excellent staff as we work in partnership with you to empower our children to become confident, compassionate, and engaged citizens of a global community.  We encourage all families to join our PTA and get involved in activities throughout the year.  By working together, we will ensure your child’s success during these very important first years of school. Please continue to check the school website for more information regarding upcoming events and items of interest. I look forward to another fabulous year.
